facing your Goliath

Facing your Goliath; The story of a Greatness.

Facing your Goliath

Who is Goliath? And why do I have to face him? Reminds me of the Biblical story between David and Goliath.

Goliath was a giant, so tall and huge; he was about 9ft and 9 inches tall. With height like that his voice must be like thunder, I can only imagine how he whispers. He wasn’t just big, he was also a trained soldier, ready for war, putting on the whole armor of a soldier, he had the right equipment’s to fight with, I’d have been scared of Him too, but not David.

David was a young shepherd boy, maybe 5ft and 6 inches tall, definitely not a match for Goliath in size. He couldn’t withstand the rain of insults from Goliath (let’s say Goliath was a Bully) Goliath had been insulting and challenging David’s people to a fight for over 40 days. But, honestly who would in his right senses want to face a guy like Goliath. But David wasn’t in his right senses, he was hungry and tiny looking, he couldn’t even carry the sword and armors given to him comfortably.

Imagine a Keke Napep challenging  an 18 wheeler  truck.

But David stood his ground this sunny afternoon, defeated Goliath and today he is remembered as an hero in Israel and the world.

“Sometimes you have to face a Goliath to find the David in you”

What is your Goliath? What challenges confront you to the face, are you going to chicken out or fight like David.

Facing your Goliath can be a daunting task, but you have to if you ever want to achieve anything worthwhile. Your Goliath may not carry a sword, or put on a 125 pounds armor, he may be that bad habit you are struggling with and you know its holding you back, Your Goliath could be your unbelief, or your low self-esteem, a past you can’t share or a future you can’t face, you know well the roar of your Goliath.

How long have you suffered the Torments of Goliath? The numbers don’t matter. You could decide to keep running but bear in mind that running doesn’t solve any problem (Maybe except you are Usain Bolt and outrun your Problems, lol).

The Israelites complained for days about the size of Goliath, He is as tall as the statue of Liberty, we can’t possibly defeat him, as strong as the wall of china, we are like ants before him, it’s a family problem, we don’t have enough money. But complaining doesn’t solve problems.

Fear is holding so many people back from achieving all they can. Fear is false evidence appearing real; you could Forget everything and Run or Face everything and Rise. Choose ye this day.
