Yes, the movie! what did I learn from that movie? Or perhaps the question should be what didn’t I learn from that movie?
GOD IS NOT DEAD, philosophy, science have tried to confuse us especially students about the existence of God, but watching that movie gave a clearer understanding about the existence of God even through science.
From the main character to the pastor and the professor there is something to learn from that movie.
Lessons you can learn
MAIN CHARACTER Josh
1.confidence: it takes confidence to stand against a professor, defending your point in a topic he is a professor at, and more confidence to do it publicly at the expense of your grades, josh was confident, we also should be confident towards achieving our goals in life whatever they may be.And also he had strong conviction ( values , Guiding principles)
2. Factual: it is not enough to say God is not dead because I’m a Christian, but he came up with factual facts, findings to prove his point. So should we, lets do our research before we engage in arguments.
A minister of Faith that didn’t practice it, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1 KJV), just put your bag in the car in preparedness to go with the car, but no he would check if the car was working before before packing his bag in, thanks to the encouragement from his friend before he realized what faith truly is, that’s what friends do for each other, they uplift each other.
why do you hate God so much?
“Because he took everything away from me”
How do you hate someone that doesn’t exist?
After been defeated by a student in an introductory class what he has been doing sorry teaching for years, what more was left? give up and start a new philosophy? No, guess some people have to agree the hard way, you don’t have to go through the hard way anyway.
And also the professor wasn’t teachable, he wasn’t open to new information.
“the illiterates of 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write but those who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn” Alvin Toffler
There are 3 ways people learn
1. Through observation
2. Through instruction
3. Through experience
The third may be the hardest, remember Nebuchadnezzar in the Bible that’s an example on how to learn through experience, you don’t have to learn that way.
“Instructions makes high flyers” Bishop David Oyedepo
In case you haven’t watched the movie you should get it and watch, it’s enlightening and educative.
