Close Enough

Close Enough: What You Need to get on in Life

Yesterday, I was driving home late at night on the streets of Abuja. It was really dark (I mean it’s night what did you expect), ok, and as expected I put on my headlight to see, the street lights weren’t working (From here you can start imagining where I live) but because of my headlight I could see clearly ahead of me, I was able to drive home safe. At a point, while driving I decided to look far but it was impossible for me because I couldn’t see what was far ahead because the headlight only showed me close enough to get ahead.

I tried to draw inspiration from it and yes I did, and it’s not because I’m a deep guy, maybe I am.

Sometimes, we don’t need to see so far off in life (Now don’t get me wrong) we just need to see close enough to get going, of course, you should have a long term vision, I knew I was going home at least and I sure know where home is, but all I needed was light so close enough to get me home. You need to see just close enough to get going, so it’s ok to not see the end because the puzzle doesn’t all fit at once, it’s a step after the other, and then another step.

So, take time to celebrate small wins, take time to appreciate small movement, take cognizance of even little achievements, because you may not see the whole puzzle yet, but somehow it’s beginning to make sense. It may not look like it, but if you stop to look back you will see that you are not where you’ve always been, you’ve made progress.
It is great to have a long term plan; it is also great to have short term plans.

I hope this stirs you for the new week ahead.

Before you die, Live.
