Don’t be Fixed minded

Don’t be Fixed minded

“We adopt a fixed mindset when we identify with the praise that people give us (ex: you’re so smart)”

Never ever should we as leaders have a fixed mindset? Having a negative mindset based on the situations around us is enough but never make that mind to be fixed. We need to see a potential increase or positive in every and anything we do.

Imagine a plane that refuses to take off because it’s too scared to fly! Puff,  bizarre right? Well that’s how fixed minded people are. They lock the abilities to discover new parts of themselves. They are the cause of their own stagnation because they believe circumstances cannot be changed.

Fixed mindset people experience more stress than others because they just think of surviving not living! Fixed minded people believe that failure is a mirror to who you are but growth minded people KNOW that failure is a correction to what you got wrong last time.

Science shows that our intelligence and our abilities are not fixed. What great news. We are supposed to be growth oriented. There is nothing fun about having a fixed mind. When you believe in growth and the fact that you are meant to grow then you have opened space in your life to improve, to become a better version of yourself.

These are two ways to adopt a growth mindset;

  1. By relabeling your thoughts. That’s from negative to positives and fear to ability to learn from risks.

  1. By recall. This is by practical learning from your past and failed experiences. Every experience leaves us with a lesson but only growth minded people know that.
