fail, but get up

Fail, but get up

fail, but get up

It’s okay to fall, but don’t stay down.

Through my days in school, and my life generally people fail, I’ve always lived to believe I’m a smart person. I can’t remember a point in my life where I thought I was dumb or a failure, at least I can’t remember. I always knew I was important, smart, intelligent, handsome, fresh, brilliant, I bet you the list goes on and on, but (my mentor once said everything said before the word “but” is a bastard it’s as irrelevant as the letters “ueue’ when pronouncing “queue”) lately I’ve found myself asking myself some ridiculous questions like am I truly not smart? Am I irrelevant? Maybe not irrelevant like the letters “ueue” in pronouncing ‘queue” but like the letter ‘K’ in pronouncing “knife”

I like reading Motivational books and My mentor John Maxwell told me a lot about picking myself back up when I fall, I guess I’m not ready for this post graduation NYSC life, Maxwell told me there are going to be failures in fact if there are no failures on the way, it only means you aren’t doing anything new.

Does this sound familiar to anyone:

“dear xyz,

Thank you for your interest in Zyx Company,

We regret to inform you that you were unsuccessful at our screening process

Your application is hereby closed.

We wish you success in your future endeavours.”

That’s the sound of rejection, it doesn’t sound nice, I’ll rather listen to Vic O ft Tonto Dike sing, than listen to that, but rejections like this and many more come here and there right? The stress of life can be tedious and down casting. I bet you’ve experienced rejection one way or the other and if you haven’t experienced any, uhm…maybe you just aren’t trying new things i.e applying to a new job, probably approaching a hot lady, working on a new project or even playing new people on FIFA 17. But whatever failure you might have experienced or experiencing, get up and try again, show up one more time, don’t give up, not yet, Abraham Lincoln lost 7 different elections and still became president, damn! What was He thinking point is He didn’t give up, let’s not go too far our President in Nigeria President Buhari lost 3 different presidential elections before becoming president and whatever view you hold of Him, I don’t care, He was a man that didn’t give up, and I don’t see Him giving up yet.

As an expert in failure and failure related affairs, I can tell you you’ll be fine, only if you take actions, and yeah, right actions. In my quest to be fine I delved front and back trying new things and getting more experience on how to fail. It is my job to make sure you are fine and I can’t do that till you commit to some certain action steps I would be sharing with you. I learnt most of them from my Mentor John and they work. So as your friend I’ll be sharing them with you.

It is best we debunk some misconceptions about failure before we proceed. You don’t want to hate on someone for the wrong reason, if you would fight someone at least know a thing or two about them, it will do you a lot of good. Okay misconceptions about failures

  1. Failure is not an event: on my!!! I thought failure was like your wedding party, it happens to you just once, logically, and that’s it, you don’t have to get married again. It comes and puff, it’s gone for good. Now you can live your life in peace, failure be looking at you like *** failure is not a come and go event, it’s a journey my dear, I think that’s why the Bible said fall 7 times rise up 8. Because you technically don’t finish failing, just as you don’t finish succeeding. There’s no official height you attain and say to your soul I don’t need anything again, like that fool in the bible, just before his soul was requested of Him. So, for every new level, you can be expecting a new devil (you like the rhyme right? I’m getting good at this thing), my dear, you can be expecting new challenges at every point in life, so brace yourself up; it’s gone be a long ride. But with the tips I would be sharing as you read on, you will be more than prepaid for it when it shows up. So focus.
  2. Failure is not avoidable: I’m sure that didn’t sound right to some people, it sounded scary to me when I first thought of it, till I began to understand it and experience it. As long as you are breathing, you’ll experience some form of disappointment, rejection etc oh, please stop thinking about that perfect person, forget what you read on twitter, see on instagram, forget snaps nobody has It ALL figured out, nobody, not even *insert that person you are thinking of* has it all figured out. You can’t avoid failure, you can simply overcome them. Fall, but (remember what we said about “but” in the earlier lines) make sure you rise again and again, till you achieve what you want, except you don’t know what you want. I would teach on that later, if I were you I would subscribe so I can get all this cool stuffs.
  3. People think failure can be reversed: like CTRL Z, or hey press the reset button, like restarting a match on FIFA when you are losing and probably reducing the difficulty level to enable you win, honestly I wish life was like that. When you experience failure, just look up there’s a bigger picture, you may spill your milk, but as far as your cow is still intact, you’ll be fine. Failure is not final it’s a stepping stone; you don’t want me to start naming those that rose from massive failures to massive success.

If you need a quote on failure, here’s one from Herbert Brocknow “ he who never makes a mistakes, takes his orders from one who does”
